The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) has issued a statewide TOTAL FIRE BAN for Tuesday 19 November 2019 until 12 midnight. This means no fires in the park including coal and gas fire BBQ's and all fire permits are suspended. Please report any fires quickly to 000.

Opening hours

Pedestrian access:

The Park is open 24 hours, seven days a week, but most of the park is not lit after hours.

The best entry points for pedestrians are from O'Connell, Pitt, Macquarie and George Streets on the eastern boundary; Queens Road and Park Avenue to the west, and the Great Western Highway to the south.


Vehicle access:

Macquarie Street Gate is open 6am-6pm (8pm during daylight saving).

Queens Road Gate is open 10am-3pm weekdays and 6am-6pm weekends and public holidays (8pm during daylight saving).

Entry to the park is free of charge, but parking fees may apply.
Accessible parking spots are available.
