Grab your family and friends and head to The Crescent at Parramatta Park on Saturday 19th March 2016 for an unforgettable night of music and fun! Enjoy this FREE Sydney Symphony Orchestra concert with James Morrison’s Symphonic Jazz and your Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
Renowned Australian jazz-man and presenter James Morrison introduces the world of jazz in a fun-infused concert for all ages, starting from 8pm. Thrill to the amazing sounds of a symphony orchestra and some new sounds you didn’t think were possible. Featuring roof-raising jazz hits, including ‘Basin Street Blues’ and Judy Bailey’s ‘Four Reasons’— this fun concert will have you dancing in The Crescent at Parramatta Park!
With Sydney Symphony Orchestra conductor Benjamin Northey, the concert promises fantastic family fun and jazzy hits from Dixieland to Duke Ellington, and more.
We are also excited to announce that once again 7 News will be supporting our event – 7 News Sydney anchor Mark Ferguson will be MC on the night.
Ahead of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra with James Morrison concert at 8pm, traditional jazz group, the Ben Hauptmann Trio will be performing. With Ben Hauptmann on guitar, Jonathan Zwartz on double bass and James Hauptmann on drums, the Ben Hauptmann Trio delivers tight arrangements and an exciting, sophisticated musical experience. A pop up bar and delicious food trucks will also have tasty treats available to purchase from 6pm so head down early to grab your spot before the concert under the stars begins!

Food and Drink
There will be a number of delicious food trucks and stalls for on-site purchasing from 6pm during the pre-show Jazz Trio performance. Otherwise you are welcome to BYO your own picnic, wine or other drinks as long as alcohol is responsibly consumed. Please recycle and dispose of your rubbish after the event.
Alternatively you can start your night with a gourmet two course Symphony Dinner ($62pp including tea/coffee and chocolates) at Lachlan's Restaurant located within the grounds of Old Government House. Find out more by visiting the Lachlan's website to view the menu and book your table!
Picnic blankets are highly encouraged to enjoy the concert or you may bring a low-back chair (low beach chair or similar). Higher picnic or camping chairs will be asked to moved to the back of The Crescent so views remain unobstructed.
Pets are allowed as long as they are on a leash and do not cause disturbances to other patrons.
We have a rain, hail or shine policy so the event will go ahead unless serious weather conditions prevent it. Any updates will be posted on our Facebook event page. Umbrellas are allowed until the performance begins. At this point, if you would like to use an umbrella, you will need to be at the back of the crowd so that views remain unobstructed.
This is a smoke-free event.
In the interests of public safety and enjoyment of this event no cars will be permitted to enter or park within the Park from 4.00pm. We encourage visitors to use public transport or park at nearby parking stations around Parramatta such as the Hunter St car park.
For more information about other nearby parking in Parramatta, check the Parramatta City Council website or go to the NSW Transport website to plan your trip on public transport. The closest train stations are Westmead (200m walk down Railway Pde) or Parramatta (500m).
