Getting to the Park
Parramatta Park is on the western edge of the Parramatta CBD and is an easy walk from Parramatta and Westmead railway stations or the Rivercat terminal.
If you are on foot, the best entry points are George Street gate on the east, Queens Road gate or Park Avenue to the west and Great Western Highway to the south.
Public transport
City Shuttle
The Parramatta Shuttle Bus connects tourists, residents and commuters to the commercial, retail and recreational landmarks of the city. It runs every 10 minutes, seven days a week, and it is free.
The bus operates on a continuous loop around the city centre, with three stops near Parramatta Park:
Stop 3 (Macquarie Street West near the Jessie Street Centre) – a short walk to the Park’s main gate, this stop is ideal for the Rumsey Rose Garden, Gatehouse Tea Rooms and Old Government House.
Stop 4 (O'Connell Street) – ideal for the Crescent, Old Kings Oval, Government Farm and the northern riverbank.
Stop 5 (Leagues Club on O'Connell Street) – access the park by crossing the Parramatta River using the Buttons Bridge.
Train
Parramatta Park is a short walk from both Parramatta and Westmead train stations. Visit Transport NSW to plan your trip.
Rivercat

Bus
The Parramatta bus terminal is located next to the Parramatta train station in Darcy and Argyle Streets. Use Transport NSW to plan your bus trip.
When driving in the Park, only travel in the designated vehicle lane (far right of the roadway). Always be aware of pedestrians and cyclists using the shared internal road and never park, or stop temporarily in either the cycle or pedestrian lanes.
Driving and parking options
Parking
We encourage visitors to catch public transport but recognise that many people do drive to Parramatta Park. We therefore manage the limited parking within the park to benefit all visitors.
Only park in designated parking areas and marked bays. Be aware of the time limits that apply to each marked parking bay.
Never park, or stop temporarily in either the cycle or pedestrian lanes on the shared internal roadway.

Temporary parking changes for events and construction work
Sometimes major events or construction/road work mean parking isn’t available in the Park. If this might affect your visit, sign up to our notifications during the Crescent Summer Series to receive alerts and/or check the Notices on the website before you set out.
Accessible parking
There are a number of accessible parking spots located throughout the park for visitors with limited mobility. These spaces are clearly marked.
Long-stay parking
Parramatta Park has three long-stay paid car parks. Vehicles must only park in marked bays and must clearly display a valid parking ticket on the car dashboard. Each car park has multiple ticket machines accepting coins or credit card payments.
Parking fees collected go directly towards maintaining the landscape, facilities and historic assets of Parramatta Park and providing services to our community.
O'Connell Street car park
Open: Monday to Friday, 6am–4pm
Long-stay parking (maximum 10 hours): $13
Short-stay parking: $3 per hour
Bowling Green car park (near the Macquarie Street Gatehouse and Rumsey Rose Garden)
Open: Monday to Friday, 6am–6pm (8pm during daylight saving)
Long-stay parking (maximum 10 hours): $14
Short-stay parking: $3 per hour
Also open Saturdays, 6am–12pm, for short-stays at $3 per hour
West Domain parking area
Open: Monday to Sunday, 6am-6pm (8pm during daylight saving)
Long stay parking (maximum 10 hours): $10 per day
Short stay parking: First two hours free then $3 per hour (maximum $10 per day). For two hours free parking a ticket is still required.
Parking is free and unlimited on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays, no ticket is required.
Bus access
All passenger vehicles in excess of 3 tonnes require a permit to enter Parramatta Park. The Park’s roads are shared spaces with lanes for cars, bicycles and pedestrians – use caution and follow the road safety rules .
