NOTICE – change of traffic conditions for Carols in the Crescent with Guy Sebastian and Friends

Parramatta Park will be pedestrian-only on Saturday 15 December for Carols in the Crescent with Guy Sebastian and Friends! Non-event vehicles will not be permitted to enter the Park on this day. The Park will remain open to pedestrians.

Nod to the past in new inclusive playground

Construction is due to begin on a new playground in Parramatta Park for people of all abilities. The Garden Precinct Playground will replace the existing playground at Pavilion Flat, just inside the George Street entrance. It will include sand areas for hands-on play, a low play-dome with ropes and swings and a carousel that is designed to encourage play for wheelchair users. Rubber mats will ensure it is safe for all.

PM celebrates largest Deepavali in the Park

Parramatta Park came alive with the colours and sounds of an ancient Hindu festival earlier this month, as Sydneysiders converged to celebrate Deepavali. The event has become increasingly popular in Western Sydney in recent years, and a record crowd of over 30,000 turned up to view the burning of an eight-meter-tall Ravana on the Sunday night.

NOTICE: Temporary closure of The Crescent - irrigation works

We’ll soon be starting work to install an automated irrigation system in The Crescent, so it will be closed to the public from Tuesday 2 October until late-October. The irrigation system will allow us to better maintain the grassed area, which gets a lot of visitors during the busy summer months.
